Human Rights Film Series 2011

Motion Graphics

The Human Rights Film Series, first organized in 2000 and presented by the Center for Social Media and the Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Law at American University, showcases the power of film to educate and advocate about human rights.

This motion graphics was intended for the opening of the festival. I wanted to use an imagery that would both reflect collectiveness and resilience, which led me to wield the image of a beating heart. I had to find a way to show it in a schematic way, as to only keep its symbolic effect and not its clinical and anatomical dimension. The films shown at the festival were presented through the path of a dancing beam, going deeper and deeper into the tissues and blood cells of this beating heart, the core of what makes us all humans.
